Sp-Berner advances in sustainability with new certificates at its Torrent recycling plant

At Sp-Berner, our commitment to the circular economy and sustainability is constant and firm. For this reason, our recycling plant in Torrent has obtained three important certifications that consolidate our commitment to transparency and excellence in the treatment and recovery of plastic waste.

These certifications recognise our work in the plastics sector.

ISO 9001/2015 + Order TED646/23: traceability from supplier to final product

This certification, which incorporates the recent Order TED646/23, marks a before and after in the management of thermoplastic waste. Thanks to it, the thermoplastic material that we process at our Torrent plant and that is destined for the manufacture of new plastic products is no longer considered waste.

This means that we meet the highest standards for transforming waste into valuable resources, providing legal certainty and removing bureaucratic barriers throughout the recycling chain.

These new certifications reinforce the legal recognition of our recycled plastic material, from all fractions leaving our plant.

UNE EN 15343:2008: plastics recyclability certification

Obtaining UNE EN 15343:2008 certification underlines our commitment to the traceability and recyclability of plastics. This standard guarantees:

  • Total traceability from the raw material to the final recycled product, where every step of the process is documented and controlled.
  • Exhaustive quality control. At every stage of our recycling process, we implement rigorous controls to ensure the quality of the resulting material.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance. This certification reinforces market confidence in our processes by demonstrating our commitment to current legislation.

RECYCLASS (Recycling Process Certificate): transparency from the beginning

The RecyClass Recycling Process Certificate aims to recognise our recycling processes, both for pre-consumer and post-consumer waste. This certificate allows us to:

  • Demonstrate the traceability of plastics recycling in a clear and transparent manner.
  • Reliably communicate the origin of the waste we process.
  • Position ourselves as the point of origin of the chain of custody of recycled plastics, offering confidence to our customers and collaborators.

These certifications reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and innovation, while allowing us to demonstrate that it is possible to move towards a more responsible and efficient production model.
