World Climate Day: circular commitment and corporate transparency at Sp-Berner

26 March marks World Climate Day, a date that invites us to reflect on the impact of industrial activity on the environment and, above all, to take action. At Sp-Berner, as leaders in plastics processing, we understand that sustainability is not an option, but rather the backbone of our competitiveness and responsibility in the market.

Our approach to mitigating climate change is based on three fundamental pillars: materials science, information transparency and robust corporate governance.

1. Innovation in materials. The value of recycled plastic

The fight against climate change is intrinsically linked to decarbonisation. At Sp-Berner, we work daily with polymers such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), but what sets us apart is the origin of these resources.

Thanks to our industrial recycling capacity, we are closing the plastic loop. In the last financial year, 2025, we reached a significant milestone: 46% of the material used in our products was recycled. This figure not only reinforces our operational efficiency, but also enables our partners and customers to reduce the carbon footprint of their own supply chain by purchasing solutions with high environmental value.

2. Transparency and performance. Beyond words

In a business environment that demands rigour, environmental awareness must be demonstrated with verifiable data. At Sp-Berner, we are committed to maximum transparency through our environmental communication and disclosure tools.

Every year, we publish our Non-Financial Information Statement (EINF), which is available on our corporate website. This document provides detailed information on our environmental performance, allowing our stakeholders to objectively assess our progress in reducing emissions and managing resources efficiently. We believe that our customers’ trust is built on the basis of traceability and honesty in our data.

3. A commitment sealed by corporate policies

Our long-term vision is underpinned by a clear governance structure. Sp-Berner’s commitment to the environment is embodied in two key instruments:

  • Total quality assurance, food safety and environmental policy: available on our website, this policy guarantees that every process complies with the most demanding environmental standards.
  • Corporate sustainability policy: a further step in our strategic evolution, to be published shortly, reinforcing our roadmap towards neutral and responsible production.

Leading the shift towards a sustainable industry

On World Climate Day, we reaffirm our mission: to transform plastic to improve people’s lives and protect the planet. We invite our partners and customers to continue investing in products that not only meet technical excellence, but also contribute to a more sustainable and circular future.
